Part 1 of this week’s voting has concluded. Miranda Lambert won Level 10 for the second time in three weeks, giving “All Kinds of Kinds” another Level Point. With a little more support in Part 2, Miranda can make a decent climb on the chart.
This week, 3 songs were being promoted from Level 1 to Level 2, meaning that there would be three new songs in Wednesday’s Part 2. Both Charlie Worsham (“Want Me Too”) and Brad Paisley (“The Mona Lisa”) were promoted in their first week in the voting while Kip Moore (“Young Love”) joined them in being promoted.
This week’s Part 2 will begin later this evening, around 8pmET, and will be the next-to-last Part 2. Once we start voting for charts I consider to be in 2014, we will only have one part to the voting for the chart. To read more, check out the 1st post in a series of 3 that I am doing on the 2014 changes.

This is the 1st in a series of 3 posts highlighting the changes to the DCMF Chart for 2014. This post deals with a name change and three voting changes.
The official name of the chart will be changed to the Fan Voted Country Music Chart by Dedicated Country Music Fans. I will still have the same twitter handle, same website, etc., but I will just change the formal name to be more representative of what the chart is. I will likely refer to it as the Fan Voted Chart by DCMFs for the shorthand version of the name.
The chart will no longer be decided by a two-part voting method. We will only vote once a week for the chart which will simplify the voting process. The process will be the same as the current Part 1, just with different results and several changes with the points. The final Part 2 will be held on Wednesday, December 18th.
The Keeper Voting will now have 3 polls. There will now be a Level 10 Poll on the Keeper Voting (KV). By removing a Level 10 song every week, we guaranteed that there will be at least one song promoted from each level below 10. There will be songs that are exempt from the poll each week—any song that was just promoted to Level 10 that week and the song with the most votes the week before. I want each song to get a chance to be on the Level 10 Poll during the chart voting on Mondays and recently promoted songs might now if they are voted out during the KV. I also want to have a reward for songs on Level 10 who get the most support during the KV, which also will help to limit the songs that are eligible each week. In the event a Level 10 song is being automatically removed due to the artist having a new song in the voting, the KV will only determine which song is exempt from the KV the next week.
The Keeper Voting will now open on Wednesday nights around 8pmET and will run until 6amET on Friday mornings. With Part 2 now eliminated, I can push the start up without having two parts overlapping.

Easton Corbin’s “All Over the Road” spends a 4th week at #1 this week. Easton should be #1 the next two weeks, which are the final two weeks of 2013. In order to ensure that Easton peaks in 2013, he will be removed from the voting after this week and will have his final week on the charts be the final week of 2013. I am doing to this to make sure that Easton has his rightful place on the 2013 Yearly Chart. With a format change in the chart for 2014, I may make a format change for the 2014 Yearly Chart, which may affect the song’s ability to chart high next year.
Scotty McCreery’s “See You Tonight” holds steady at #2 while “Drunk Last Night” by the Eli Young Band remains at #3. “Aw Naw” by Chris Young returns to the Top 5 by jumping up two place to #4, while “All Kinds of Kinds” by Miranda Lambert climbs holds steady at #5 to round out the Top 5.
This week, 2 songs qualified as Hot Songs by winning the poll they were on in both Part 1 and Part 2. The songs are listed below, followed by what polls it won (Part 1, Part 2) and the change on the chart this week
“I Got a Car” by George Strait; Monday’s Level 5 and Wednesday’s Level 6; #33 to #27
“Slow Me Down” by Sara Evans; Monday’s Level 4 and Wednesday’s Level 5; #37 to #30
Top 75 Debuts
This week, there are 6 new songs in the Top 75, led by “You Can’t Make Old Friends” by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton at #58. The other 5 debuts are:
#59- “Wish I Still Smoked Cigarettes” by Ronnie Dunn
#72- “Doin’ It Right” by Rodney Atkins
#73- “19 You and Me” by Dan + Shay
#74- “Smallest Town on Earth” by Josh Grider
#75- “July in Cheyenne” by Aaron Watson
See the entire Top 75 on the DCMF Chart Top 75 page
At the bottom of the Chart Page there are two links. One takes you to the DCMF Chart Website; the other takes you to the Chart Page on the website that allows you to see the full chart with details on every single song that is on this week’s chart.
On this post, I look at who can be #1, who’s being added to the voting, who’s not in the voting anymore and what the Keeper Voting for this week is going to look like. Feel free to read whichever of the four sections below you would like. There’s probably more details here in some sections than are needed, but I am using this post as a brain dump to get things out of my head that allow me to not become too obsessed with running this thing, and I am already obsessed enough!
Who Can Be #1?
Once again, Easton Corbin’s “All Over the Road” has #1 locked up this week and should easily be #1 for the final week of 2013 as well. This week will be the last week the song is in the voting to ensure it gets its proper place on the 2013 Yearly Chart (only songs that peaked in 2013 will be on the 2013 Yearly Chart).
To see who’s new to the DCMF Voting this week, please read the 12/9 Adds Reminder Post.
Who’s Out of the Voting?
Last week’s Keeper Voting knocked out the recent singles for Steve Holy (“Radio Up”) and Love & Theft (“If You Ever Get Lonely”). To see the entire list of songs no longer in the voting, including the 4 Level 1 songs that were not kept, visit Section B on the DCMF Chart Voting page. You can see the list of songs on their curtain call and when each of their final charts will be.
Keeper Voting Preview
This week’s Level 1 Poll in the Keeper Voting will feature 5 songs as we need to remove 1 per current rules (at least 1 song removed from Level 1 each week). The 5 songs that have been on Level 1 the longest after Monday’s Part 1 will be eligible for this poll (the current rules state that at least 5 songs have to be on the poll). There are only two weeks left of the current voting format, so in a few weeks the Level 1 Keeper Voting will consistently have 16 songs on it with 8 of them being kept and 8 being removed.
As of this writing, 7 out of the 60 songs on Levels 2 through 10 are eligible. If we stay at 6 to 10, we have 2 songs removed (a.k.a., not kept). If by chance we get to 11 to 15, there’s 3 songs not kept and anything over 15 leads to 4 songs not being kept (over 15 will be rare). The official number will be announced when the Keeper Voting is opened on Thursday.
Voting in Part 1 of the Chart Voting (the Level Points Voting) to determine the 12/15 to 12/21/13 DCMF Chart will open around 8pmET on Sunday. Voting for Part 1 will run until 3am ET on Tuesday morning.
Part 2 of the Chart Voting (the Impression Points Voting) will open around 8pmET on Tuesday and will run until 3am ET on Thursday.
The Keeper Voting will run after the chart voting is completed, starting around 6amET on Thursday morning and running until 6amET on Friday morning.
Now that it is Saturday, the period to determine what songs I am going to add to the voting a week from now (12/16) has closed. Here are the 3 songs that are being added on 12/16:
Lindsay Ell- Trippin’ On Us
Rosehill- The Bible and the Gun
Zane Williams- Little Too Late
Each of these songs will be on the Level 1 Poll at the bottom of the voting page (you have to vote in each poll above it). These songs will not be in the next voting week but will be in the voting week after that. Determining the added songs ahead of time allows me to be able to prepare the voting ahead of time.
I am looking for songs to add on 12/23, which will be the first week of the new format for voting, so if you know a song that you would want added to the voting, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your suggestion. Please be specific (artist, song, etc.) and let me know you want it added. Thanks!
